PostSubject: VEGAS   VEGAS EmptySun Jul 22, 2007 11:45 am

Ok guys new topic

We have to pick a place where we are all going to stay in Vegas.
I will be getting there on the 1st of Oct and leaving on the 4th. I have heard Bellagio is fantastic, but it is probably the most expensive. What it the consensus of everyone?
Would people rather spend an extra 300-400 dollars and stay there, or would you rather save that money and stay at the MGM or something similar. Let’s see if we can solve this dilemma and have an idea where we are staying. Also will people be booking in advance or will they try to get a deal closer to the day.
Don’t feel compelled that you have to stay at either hotel. As we will all be meeting up anyway.

Hey Marty- wonder when you'd get back on...

If you look at that link I added about reviews, the Excalibur king queen jocolor and the Luxor farao had great reviews, look beautiful, are VERY reasonable and great for kids (ie Harry). They are also across from MGM if we didn't stay together.

We are trying to finalise ours ASAP- think Bec and Brad (hello!) are probably sick of me asking questions and sending texts every night about what i have researched!!

PS Tho:star: se earning Like a Star @ heaven MEGA BUCKS in pommie land may want to stay @ the Bellagio!tongue Just wondering if they will want to hang out with us... if we are good enough!! HA!lol!

Brad has just found a good deal @ New York, New York with flights from LA= $370 each for 4 nights in Vegas. We should work out if we will stay together in same hotel.

Hi guys,
I had a look at the web site Ancy said and I was just going to say Bellagio couldnt of had a better result but then I had a look at MGM grand on same site and the comments there were also wonderful...might be hard decision confused confused Marty said Nick was saying he stayed at BallyI think it is near MGM and he was very impressed.I dont know anything about that hotel though....Thank you Bradley...Ill look forward to going to Disneyland with you darling but might be a bit scared of some rides...I might go with Harry to Fantasyland..bit more my style..also cant imagine your mother in law being too adventurous ,I think its in the genes.
Lots of love Chez xxx

Hi All.....Have been enjoying all the info on the wedding and holidays that are being planned.......Fortunately for me my wonderful Son in Law and daughters are doing all the planning....with a bit of luck all I will have to do is turn up at the airport.

It will be great to see Jackie and Luke and it appears we are still deciding if we will join them on the trip to the Bahamas......rough seas due to cyclonic weather is rather off-putting though. pale

After the cold weather we have been having it will be good to experience a longer summer. ( I hope it will be warm in South Carolina).

Been meaning to do this for some time....pity I don't have any news to tell.

I hope you all like my photo. I thought it was appropriate seeing my reputation has preceded me. I guess there is no point defending myself. Personally I think those of you who know me really well are just jealous!!!!!

(Hi Marg I am glad you have found your way into the forum.)

The photo I tried to find was 'Sponge Bob Square Pants' as I thought it was more appropriate for me i.e. 'spongebob' indicating my ability to hold alcohol, and 'squarepants' indicating my mental status as a square and my body shape!!!!! I hope this roughly explains my history of alcohol consumption that keeps being eluded to.

Just a small bit of trivia, my baby boy had his first 80 minutes of fame at Energy Australia Stadium on Saturday before the Knights/Roosters match and won. He earned himself his first ever match payment of $5.00. How exciting is that!!!
Well I guess I'll hit the sack. Talk to you all again soon.

God Bless and sweet dreams. Shazza xxx

Good on ya Shaz...your my kind of woman and I think that photo is much better than square pants Bob.I know your gauge for when your boys reached manhood was when they could go drink for drink with their mother so that photo is perfect. How great is that for Johnny,we will have to organise to see them both play when Tony has his next weekend off. What do you think about Dr.Phil...Jacko how could we arrange to do it??? bounce
Shaz also I know your accomm.is booked but you can always change it with the hotels or apply for an upgrade or better rate...A fellow at work told me to make sure when we arrived in SF to contact hotel in vegas(at the time I told him we were thinking of MGM)and say you were thinking of going somewhere else and what could they do for you...he said it works everytime and you might be able to get a cheaper stay.

Hi everyone and welcome to Margie!!
The Dr Phil show sounds good so count me in if there are any free spots. I don't mind where we stay in Vegas. It sounds as though the MGM may be a happy medium for everybody but it would be good to hear the results of Brad's queries re any good group deals!!

Hi Bec

Thanks for doing all this research, Sars I will leave Dr Phil, I have a loose idea that I would like to try and get to Tijuana and/or San Diego to have a look down that coast and maybe a visit to sea world. There is also talk of a baseball game, so as we arrive on the thursday I think time will run out. The list is endless. I have been trying to find a concert or something, we miss jimmy buffet in las vegas by a couple of days for all the old rockers!!!!

bounce Excitment is building!!! xx

PostSubject: Re: VEGAS   VEGAS EmptyWed Jul 25, 2007 12:16 pm

I have been speaking to Gary Curtis(travels to USA approx.once year)today and he was saying if we stay in Beverley Hills there is not much to do without travelling quite a while. He said if you want to go to Disneyland you have to travel about 2 hours and quite a bit of cost involved but if you stay closer to Disneyland you are closer to Tijuana and if you want to go to Universal Studios you can get a ticket that includes travel cost and they will collect you also it doesnt open until 10am but Disneyland opens earlier. We wont have much of Thursday left when we arrive so maybe Dr.Phil could be a goer. That leaves Fri/Sat and maybe Sun if we dont leave until 1/10/07...but that only gives us 2 full days in Vegas. Also about Vegas he said he usually stays down near Circus Circus as he said it is much cheaper($59AUS night)and the thing with Vegas is that you want to walk up and down the strip to see all the sites and sights and the monorail is nearby and a bus is $1 and all the hotels are amazing and you will really need the exercise .I dont know anything about it so I am only passing on what he said.Another thing was by staying down from LA you would get the flight to Vegas(also definitely fly to Vegas he said) from John Wayne airport that way you dont have to go to LAX..apparently bedlam.

Bec and Brad stayed at Circus Circus and said never again. I remember talking to her while she was walking back one night and we spoke for about 20 minutes... she was still walking and screamed when they saw the hotel. Question There are cheap rooms @ excalibur- not as cheap, but in a better position. I personally would rather walk around places. Bec found a site with flights and hotels combined, and the package was sooo cheap- even the Bellagio was reasonable.

Tijuana isn't anywhere near Disneyland or LA! It won't matter where you stay, you'll still be hours away (about 4 hours from LA to San Diego). There is nothing in Anaheim other than Disneyland and Californialand. We think the best place to stay in LA is around Universal City/Universal studios. Beverley Hills and beaches (venice etc) are too expensive for us!!
Have just received email from DR Phil show. We can get tickets for Thursday 27th Sept taping. I need to confirm numbers with them, so to this point I have me, Marg, Cheryl and Jackie (depending upon changing arrival time to LA from San Fran). Sharon, let me know.

Hi guys,
Yes I agree Anc,We are happy to go with the consensus,I have found whenever you tell someone you are going away they always have advice for you(only good intentions)but I have no idea if the information is suitable for us or not. However if you want to go to NewZealand(north Island) we would be the ones to ask...After all we did spend 4 nights in Auckland(albeit in the casino)
